Science Program to Inspire Creativity and Excellence (SPICE) in young adults.
The goal of the program is to engage the female youth in science activities and inspire them to learn, test experiments, and create Rube Goldberg machines; ultimately that science can be fun and can be for girls.
As a volunteer for SPICE during my undergraduate studies, I mentored a summer group through various activities including an egg drop competition, and designing their Rube Goldberg machine. During the regular school year, I taught the Scientific Method at local elementary schools, and mentored students through their Science Fair projects.
